Arden did the cutest thing tonight. Chris was home early (6pm) and spent some time playing with the kids before bedtime. Chris was tickling her in her high chair and she was laughing like crazy. After he stopped and was about to turn away, she signed "more"! OMG! Seriously, I nearly swooned. We wanted to see if she would do it again, so Chris pretended to stop and after a few seconds, she would sign "more". She did it three times in total. The other funny thing she does is whenever she sees Kissipoo (her lovey) she starts laughing like Beavis or is it Butthead? Hysterical!
There are some things about this stage that is hard (clinginess, whining), but the massive growth in their awareness, their gross motor skills, and their ability to communicate makes it so worthwhile.
Blast from the past...13 months ago our lives were very different, and I don't think we imagined that this was how things would turn out...
It's a blurry shot, but this is Arden. She was not happy.

Cari, doing her best imitation of Grammy Jean. It's hard to believe how much she slept those 1st few weeks in the NICU. She is a bundle of energy now.

Cari again. They put the blanket over her head to block the light.

Arden. Her perfect little face is marred by abrasions for the tape they used for the canula.
