Yes, I'm biased, but this is really really cute.

Ahhh, so many pictures, so little time.
Pictures from the carnival held each year by Alana's school. Note the crazy hair :)

Gramma Rose is in town. Here she is holding Arden, who was not a happy camper. Can you tell?

Caryss, hanging out as usual.
Bugs bugs bugs. The booths at this year's carnival were so creative and intriguing. Alana was particularly captivated with the bugs in this exhibit. One, a live Jerusalem cricket, was so creepy looking.

Alana Bakes Quiche
Alana helps me bake spinach quiche, one of her favorite breakfast foods. In fact, she loves to "cook". Here is a short clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFSjjna5Gt0
Update on everyone:
Cari is still teething and drooling like crazy and waking in the night. She is also not fond of her neck exercises. Poor baby is getting the shaft lately. She does love to blow raspberries on the changing table. So adorable!
Arden is still sleeping great night and day, but has started chewing on her hand. Teething baby #2? But still a very happy baby. She "talks" up a storm, even by herself in the crib. She was so loud the other day that Chris thought it was Alana.
Alana is doing great with potty-training. The first two days were H-E-Double Hockeysticks. She peed all over the house, perhaps 15-20 times each day. I began to despair that (a) I did not know what I was doing and (b) she did not "get it." After a switch to different incentives (sticker chart to win toys and fun outings, bandaids and sprinkles, and putting her in dresses, skirts, tutus (things she doesn't want to peepee on), we are having much better luck. Yesterday, she had 2 accidents and today (day 5) she had none. She actually puts herself on the potty. Tonight, when I saw her getting on the potty on her own, I asked her "oh, are you going potty again?" She replied very seriously: "Yes, I don't want to peepee on my tutu. I don't want to ruin my tutu." Woohoo!
Finally, a picture of all my girls together. I love you girls soooo much! You are the sweetest!

Laughing Baby and Angry Daddy
More Photos
Because you've been so good, here are a few more photos.

Giggle Girl
Arden is the happiest of my three girls. She smiles ALL the time and always finds something to giggle about. What a sense of humor that girl has! Check out this video clip. It's soooo cute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrJJkxGlmLs
Mommy's in Trouble
I was sick of looking at the rickety old table we used to house our DVD player, cable box and tuner, so I ordered a console from Crate and Barrel. In my delusional state, I thought it would be delivered in one piece. Uh, not quite. It came in a box. Poor Chris had to come home and put it together. Actually it was worse than that. I got the boneheaded idea that I needed to move all the components out of the way, which meant unplugging everything. Even now I can't tell you why I did it. Chris spent several hours in a seething rage trying to figure out which wire went where. Meanwhile, I had to entertain both babies and keep Lani from peeing all over the place. (We are potty-training.) If this doesn't prove that I lost 6% of brain volume during the last pregnancy, I don't know what does. I feel really bad. I ruined his night.
Remember When Lani Couldn't Say Much
I came across this short video of Alana. I'm not sure hold old she was. Maybe 15-16 months? I can't tell by the date on the clip because it is showing today's date for some reason. However, if you know her now, it's hard to believe she didn't always talk up a storm. "That's mmminnnne! No, don't you touch it!" hehe

Easter Egg Hunt, 5.5 Months, Ballet Class
Tonight, I don't plan on waxing philosophical. It's all about the photo ops!
Five and a Half Months
Today, we are 5.5 months old! Arden on left, Cari on right. The doll between us is wearing a sleeper that we wore when we were 5-6 weeks old. It is a preemie sized outfit.

Score! The hunt was held right next to a playground!

A & C...they just came along for the ride. And to look cute.

Here we are again. We are chair babies!
Easter Egg Hunt
No fancy Easter dresses this year. It's hard enough keeping the girls clean and dry. Alana did enjoy the Easter egg hunt. She managed to collect 2 eggs and also won a prize. She was happy!

In the Olden Days
Were our mothers more content parents? I mean, let's think about it. They didn't worry about their kids being stolen by pedophiles. They never heard of an Amber alert. Who worried about a seatbelt much less a carseat? It didn't take them 30 minutes to get the kids locked and loaded like it does today.
Second-hand smoke wasn't a problem. Dad just rolled down the window a crack. Babies slept happily on their tummies, nobody every heard of infant reflux, and moms didn't worry that baby was going to smother himself in a blanket. Moms fed their 3 and 4 month olds solids and didn't fear that peanut butter and eggs before age 2 would cause lifelong food allergies.
You didn't need a video player to entertain the kids in the backseat. When the whining and fighting got out of hand, Dad would threaten to stop the car or just reach back and smack the kids around. Mom didn't worry about going to jail because she left her toddler in the car while she dropped a letter in the mailbox. Your kids didn't need to get 30 immunizations before age 18, when 8 would do just fine.
Mom didn't need to arrange playdates. Neighbors would simply drop in while packs of kids roamed the neighborhood until the streetlights came on. Childhood obesity wasn't a problem because having the latest technology meant you had a color tv.
We have so much instant connectivity, yet so little connection to each other. Is there any way to go back to the golden olden days? (Except for the smoking, of course ;-)

Mommy, You Stole My Heart
Yes, Alana told me that tonight. "Mommy, you stole my heart." She was pointing to the heart she made at school for valentine's day. I thought it was cute and colorful and just right to catch a baby's wandering eye, so I taped it up in the nursery. She is such a good and smart girl. I'm so proud to be her mommy.
She currently owns 3 tutus. One from Grammy Jean, one from Marily, and one from Aunty Renee. She is now wearing Aunty Renee's tutu ALL the time. Asks for it the minute she wakes up and puts it on herself if necessary. She just adores it and when people see her out and about in it, they just melt.
Sooo, we've had a crazy couple of weeks since I last posted. There was good and bad, high points and low ones. Chris was away for 5 days, and somehow, don't know how, we all survived. The only good part is I'm currently functioning in a daze so I remember little, good or bad.
Arden is a little monkey and has been a little charmer lately. She smiles when she wakes up, she smiles when she catches your eye, she smiles when you tell her that her diaper is stinky. What can I say? She is a very happy girl. She also sleeps through the night from 7:30-6:30. Her naps are less consistent and right now she won't sleep for longer than an hour.
Cari is our good eater. She will eat and drink just about anything you put in front of her. I cannot feed her fast enough to suit her and she often cries in complaint until the spoon pushes back into her mouth. She is still reaching and grabbing at things like crazy. And today she was lying on her back and started to get some torque. I think she might roll in the next week or so. Cari is a great napper these days, sleeping 2+ hours at a pop. However, she wakes up 2-3 times a night and has been waking up at 5:30 or 5:45am. Let me make this perfectly clear, no child of mine is going to get up at that ungodly hour and demand food or anything else. I draw the line at 6 o'clock!
Conversely, Alana slept in till 9am, the latest ever! She had a terrible night, moaning and crying for lulu. I think she had too much sugar and was overtired since she refused to nap. We're hoping she has a better not tonight.
I'm working with C with regard to her neck tightness. When we saw the orthotist regarding the helmet, she did find that C's neck was tight and recommended some exercises. I'm doing them, but Cari does not enjoy them.
I have a bunch of pictures to post. Here are a few.
